Carbon capture is not a substitute for deep emissions reductions and should not prevent industries from moving away from fossil fuels. Carbon capture one of the key technologies that must be deployed at scale to keep global warming well-below 2°C.

Carbon capture on industrial sites complements other mitigation strategies by further reducing net greenhouse gas emissions, especially in the near-term. And that’s what PuRE is about: providing a intermediate solution, a bridge, for hard-to-abate sectors until carbon-free robust and accessible solutions are implemented.
